  1. Suggestion for a new blog topic for Valentines Day- married Nashville singer, songwriter, musicians…would make a great mix

Check out Margo Price and Jeremy Ivey… both released great records this year and managed to stay married during the pandemic!

    Best!

  2. Mark- first time, long time. Delivered to you on Australia Day and the controversy surrounding it…

    C.W. Stoneking.

Is he a ghost? Is he a time traveler? Did he really record an album by running everything through a old film projector? Are these songs truly written by him and not stolen from an undocumented collection of Otto Heinemann? Did he really sell his soul at the peak of Uluru in the Northern Territory? Does he really eat nothing but BBQ and Meat & 3? Is he a jungle man? Does he have a good luck charm? Is his visage captured by the Jools Holland program real or faked?

I don’t have the answers to these questions Mark… Red Eye Gin has a dilly of a pickle on its hands.

Lastly- I’m a Scorpio who loves long walks in the snow and hates first dates that ask me to pay for ANYTHING!!!

  3. Just read the liner notes online for Steve Earle’s new album J.T. He covers his son’s songs plus one of his own. He found a way to deal with his grieving and offers a tribute to his son at the same time. I’ll definitely check it out.

    1. i had not seen that. coincidentally, dave lemieux was just talking about john scher and the capitol theater this morning on his ‘this day in grateful dead history’. he was playing the second set of their 1977 show there (also released as the show representing that year in their ‘thirty trips around the sun’ box set). thanks for sharing.

    1. good to hear from you. my daughters have tried to convince me to use spotify, but i lean more towards pandora. i do have a half dozen or so custom ‘stations’ there. my understanding is that i can share these, but i have never really pursued it as their algorithm throws new stuff at me all the time, which is a large part of why i like it. but sometimes it reaches too far and plays an artist i really don’t care for or it is out of the theme of the list. of course i can tell it to delete that track and it will go back to what i intended the theme to be. my fear is that if i share it too much the listener may not be aware of that and then the algorithm goes sideways on me. i use itunes for my playlists at home, and i have about 6-8 playlists there, depending on what mood i am in.

      1. Succumbed to the Spotify family membership and now I may have too many music options. I will use some of your suggested artists and start a playlist or station – will see how it morphs….thanks.
